Wyandotte County Juvenile Justice Center Progress
Big changes are happening at the Wyandotte County Juvenile Justice Center! We're getting to the point in the project where things begin really taking shape and you catch the first look of what the finished product will be.
Masonry and stone veneer installation is in process on the building's exterior, primarily in the interior courtyard. Over the next few weeks the veneer installation will begin on the perimeter and the glass curtain wall will be installed. These will be exciting visual changes that we're looking forward to seeing. Meanwhile, drywall hanging and taping is bringing definition to the interior spaces, while MEP systems and fire stopping continue to progress. Now that the gym fire proofing is complete, we can move on to installation of the rolling door, MEP systems and ceiling.
In addition to the dayrooms, this facility also features classrooms and a gymnasium. The large rolling door in the gym visually connects the building to the courtyard and can be opened when the weather cooperates. Moveable partitions allow the classroom spaces to be responsive to the needs of the faculty and student population. We can't wait to begin finishing out these innovative spaces!
